Overview

From INR. 175,000/-. Booking open for  2021. Kailash Mansarovar from Lucknow is a short and easy route for Kailash Yatra. With a short drive of  approximately 3 hours, you can reach Nepalgunj from where the Kailash journey begins.  Kailash Mansarovar yatra is a journey of a lifetime.  Kailash is the holiest mountain in the world for Hindus, Buddhists, Bonpo and Jain.  Kailash Mansarovar is the  source of four of the longest rivers in Asia including the Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali River. Hindus consider Kailash to be the abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati.

Devotees often circumambulate the mountain.  Circumambulating the mountain is called Parikrama. Devotees practice circulating/parikrama on foot as it is believed to bring good fortunes in life.  Hindus and Buddhists do the Parikrama in the clockwise direction and Jain and Bonpo followers in anticlockwise direction. Likewise, Lake Mansarovar is the highest freshwater lake in the world. Devotees believe that the water of the lake washes away their sins if they drink the water from the lake or take bath in it. So, it is very important for Hindus, Buddhists, Jain and Bonpo  followers to do the yatra at least once on their lifetime.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Lucknow. Drive to Nepalgunj.

On your arrival at Lucknow, we will meet you at designated place and we drive onwards to Nepalgunj. It takes approximately 4 hours to reach Nepalgunj. We transfer you to a hotel and we do the tour briefing in the evening. We recommend you to drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep for the long journey ahead.

Day 2: Fly from Nepalgunj to Simikot, then to Hilsa and drive onwards to Taklakot.

ON the second day, we take an early morning flight to Simikot. We normally do it after breakfast or we pack the breakfast for you. From Simikot, we take the helicopter and fly to Hilsa. It takes approximately 15- 20 minutes in helicopter. From there onwards, we move towards Tibet, clear the immigration process and drive onwards to Taklakot. Taklakot is also called Purang in Tibetan language. It is nice small Tibetan town.

Day 3: Drive to Mansarovar.

On day 3rd we drive towards the holy Mansarovar Lake. The scenery and beauty on this route is amazing. It is just a few hours of drive and the road conditions are pretty good. You have plenty of time for Puja, Havana, holy bath. We stay overnight at a guest house right next to the Lake. The night sky from Lake Mansarovar is absolutely amazing. It looks very up close and bright.

Day 4: Drive onwards to Darchen.

We further explore the Mansarovar area and we drive onwards to Darchen.

Day 5: Drive from Darchen, to Yama Dwar and Start Trekking to Dhirapuk. (4575M)

Darchen is situated 35 km north of lake manasarovar is a small town on the foothill of Kailash. Also, this is the gateway to Parikrama. From here, the trek starting point (Yama Dwar) is about 5 km. The total circumference of mount Kailash from Darchen to Darchen is 52 km. Darchen offers an array of accommodation-quality than any other places en route to Kailash.

Deraphuk stands at an elevation of 4920 m. The north face of mount Kailash is just a few thousands meters away from here. This is the only place to have a close view of north face.

Day 6: TREK TO SHIVASTHAL, GAURIKUNDA (5620 m) THEN ZUTULPHUK

Today is the toughest & longest journey of this trip. We have to trek almost 22 km through rugged highland to reach Zutulphuk. Literally, we have to pack up our gear and set off from hotel at 5 a.m. Chinese time. Initially, it is an uphill trek from Deraphuk but after walking for an hour or so, the trail turns into mild ascend. Half of the trail passes through an elevation of 4900 m./16,000 ft. or above, so there is no wonder if we get suffered from breathlessness or headache. Though, we should try to keep our pace slow & steady.

From Gauri kunda, the trail leads us rapidly down through the area full of boulders and loose pebbles. Going down can be difficult and painful than coming up. If we have taken horse, we can’t even use it in this bit. After trekking down for another 1 & half hour or so from Gauri Kunda, we will eventually reach to the valley floor. From this point on, the trail is easy & flat. It is another 2 hours easy-walk to reach Zutulphuk from here.

Day 7: Trek, Zutulphuk to Trek Ending Point, & Drive Back to Taklakot

Today is the last day of this divine circumambulation. Morning after breakfast, we pack up our gear and move on to Darchen. The entire trail is easy and flat. The trek takes about 3 hours to complete.

Our Vehicle is waiting for us at the final point; which is before Darchen. We board on the Bus then start our journey to further destination. First, we reach to the point (eastern shore of manasarovar) where we had left our vehicle. We board on the same vehicle and move ahead.

Day 8: Drive from Taklakot to Hilsa. Fly back to Nepalgunj.

Morning after breakfast, we pack up our belongings then set off for Hilsa. From Hilsa we fly back to Simikot and then to Nepalgunj. We stay overnight at Nepalgunj.

Day 9: Return back to Lucknow.

After breakfast, we drive down onwards to Lucknow.
