Bardia National Park is the largest National Park of Nepal. It is home to endangered Royal Bengal Tiger and Nepal’s famous one horn rhinoceros. Also, there are many other mammals and reptiles. This park lies in the far western district of Bardia. This national park is covered in vast Sal forests, riverine jungles and tall elephant grass. In addition, this park has 30 different mammals, more than 250 species of birds and several varieties of reptiles and water animals. You can explore this park either on the back of an elephant or enjoy the safari too.
It covers an area of 968 km2 and is the largest undisturbed park in the terai region of Nepal. With Banke national park it covers 2231 sq.km of Tiger conservation unit. In Karnali river flowing through this park , there are many gharials, crocodiles, reptiles, mammals and 125 recorded species of fish. It is of a close distance to Nepalgunj. Chisapani, lies in the banks of Karnali river and is serene with green hills surrounding the area. The Karnali river flowing nearby is also home to rare cold water dolphins.
Chisapani is one of the popular tourist destination. It lies in Shivapuri National Park. This place offers a stunning view of the snow capped mountains and green hills. It is also a famous spot to see the sunrise and sunset in Langtang, Annapurna and Manaslu ranges.
