Langtang Trekking

Langtang is a region in the Himalayas of Nepal to the North of the Kathmandu Valley and bordering Tibet. This trek provides you an opportunity to experience the wonderful views of Langtang valley along with the ancient lifestyle of the Tamang Peoples.

The Langtang National Park is also located in this area. Approximately 25% of the park is forested. The park contains a wide variety of climatic zones from subtropical to alpine. Trees include oak and maple and evergreen like pine and also various types of Rhododendron.  Similarly, animal life includes a Himalayan Black Bear, the goat-like Himalayan Tahr, rhesus monkey and red Pandas.

Trekking Langtang is not that much remote and is cheap but is still a challenge due to its rank as moderate difficulty that depends upon the trail you choose to follow. For this trek, you will have to walk 5-6 hours daily which includes uphill and downhill. This trek can be completed within 5 to 6  days.

Another beautiful attraction about this trek is Gosaikunda Lake. It is a lake of fresh alpine water. This lake is a most important Hindu Pilgrimage site. Hindus believe that, Gosaikunda is the abode of Lord Shiva. It is believed that when Lord Shiva thrust his Trishul into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his stinging throat after he had swallowed the poison, Gosaikunda Lake was formed.
